That Time I Showed a Murder House

I showed some clients a really cute colonial. It checked a lot of their boxes and was well priced. The location wasn’t great so we assumed that was the reason it hadn’t sold. They were seriously thinking about submitting an offer. I offhandedly mentioned i had a friend who lived across the street and offered to connect them.

I reached out to my friend and she said she would be happy to tell them about the neighborhood, which she loves. BUT she couldn’t not tell me there had be THREE murders that had taken place in the house!!!!!! 😱😱😱

Apparently, this house always has trouble selling because three owners ago someone broke in and murdered a little girl and her father. The house was then listed for sale. A new buyer came along, but didn’t know there had been a double murder in the house — it’s not legally required to be disclosed here. The new buyer tried to get out of the deal but was unsuccessful. Instead two ministers were brought in to cleanse the house of any evil. But that wasn’t enough…

Eight years later that owner invited someone they met in the internet to the house and they are also murdered. That person’s family let the bank foreclose on the house. The bank cleaned up the house and even changed the address so this history has been obscured. When visiting this house today you would have no inkling that house has such a sad and gruesome history.

My clients and I were so thankful that my friend shared that story! And so was I!!! They decided to keep looking.
